Director, Division of Palliative Care

McMaster University’s Department of Family Medicine, Division of Palliative Care is seeking an experienced, innovative Director to lead our committed and creative academic Division.

The Division is an acknowledged leader in the palliative approach to care and building primary care capacity in palliative care. We deliver a comprehensive range of academic programs including undergrad and post-grad medical training, fellowships, and continuing professional development. Through research and building partnerships, we advance palliative care in scholarship, social justice, community engagement, and clinical excellence.

The Division Director holds a key leadership position within the Department of Family Medicine  and is responsible for leading the research, education, health system transformation, and fiscal position of the Division.

The Director will be someone with knowledge of current trends and priorities in palliative medicine and primary care. They will have experience in capacity building, practicing effectively as part of an interprofessional team, evidence of research productivity, and experience teaching a variety of learners.

The term for this position is 5 years (renewable) with a desired start date of July 1, 2019. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences (MHBS) Curriculum Coordinator

MHBS is a clinical rotation that uses a case-based, inter-professional, interactive small group learning approach to teach residents about primary care mental health and behavioural medicine in a family medicine centred way.

The MHBS Curriculum Coordinator has primary responsibility for overseeing the administration and direction of the MHBS curriculum across the residency program.
